The funeral services for Evangelist Missionary, Imogene (Tina) S. Crayton, who died June 28, 2012, were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 3 at New Jerusalem Church, with Overseer, Sarah R. Mims officiating. Interment followed in Old Field Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Crayton was born Feb. 20, 1935 to the late Sandy Sailem and the late Cora Lee (Sarah) Martin. In 1954, she married Thomas (Cowboy) Crayton, who preceded her in death. They were blessed with nine children, of which four children preceded her in death: Lanis, Dudley, and Michelle Crayton and Marsha Ann Roberson. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Jesse Sailem and four sisters, Veler Smith, Annette McCoy, Grace Harris and Mozel Stone.
Survivors include five children, Mickey (Donnie) Coley, Joan (Jefthor) Williams, Lennie Crayton, Jr., Bobby Joe (Karen) Crayton and Jesse Steven (Gussie) Crayton; two sisters, Evangelist Sarah Joe (Larry) Goggins, Pastor Sarah Ruth (Melvin) Mims; three brothers, Bobby Woodrow, Colen and Steve Sailem; 42 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; four special grandchildren, Latoya, Bridget, Michael and Curtis Crayton and a host of nieces and nephews, friends and acquaintances.
Active pallbearers were Lanis Fountain, Michael Crayton, Kelvin Cooper, Jamal Fountain, George Adam and Roy Sailem.
Honorary pallbearers were friends.
Musical selections were rendered by New Jerusalem Praise Team and guest church, Jefthor Williams, Jr. and Faith Temple Choir and the Anointed Mims Singers.
Arrangements were under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.
