Sheriff Benny Deloach reports the following incidents handled by deputies with the Appling County Sheriff’s Department.
On March 11, during a routine traffic stop on U.S. 1 North, Corey Preston Long, age 30, of Hazlehurst, was arrested and was charged with possession of marijuana and seatbelt violation.
More drug arrests made
March 11, answered a call to Johnny Smith Road in reference to a domestic dispute. A husband and wife had a verbal disagreement. Parties were separated.
March 11, during a routine traffic stop on Bay Street Amber Wells, age 27, of Baxley, was arrested and was charged with drugs to be kept in original container.
March 11, answered a call to Buckhorn Road in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated that someone drove on the property tearing both mailboxes down.
March 11, during a routine traffic stop on Highway 15 resulted in the arrest of David Troy O’Quinn, age 35, of Surrency, and Justin Howard Herrington, age 36, of Baxley. O’Quinn was charged with criminal attempt and Howard was charged with illegal possession of controlled substances and criminal attempt. Due to evidence discovered from the traffic stop a search warrant was obtained and executed on Justin Howard Herrington’s residence and additional illegal drugs to manufacture methamphetamine. The Altamaha Drug Task Force assisted in the investigation.
March 12, answered a call to Aldridge Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated unknown person(s) had taken two Dodge transfer cases, one 4-speed Dodge transmission, one automatic transmission with transfer case, a deer stand climber, 900-1200 old albums, a Merantz Studio Grade turn table, and some scrap metal from his residence.
March 12, answered a call to Piney Bluff Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated person(s) unknown had broken into the residence and stolen 25 guns. The complainant stated there were pry marks were the door had been pried open.
March 12, answered a call to Mae Lane in reference to harassing phone calls. A complainant stated a known subject continues to call his daughter and harass her.
March 12, answered a call to Lawson Drive in reference to a theft. A complainant stated a known subject took his TV. The officer also noted there was forced entry to the residence.
March 12, Answered a call to Iris Lane in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated took a Sentry safe, four pocket watches, twelve knives, three gold coins, a pearl necklace, and a Play Station.
March 13, Answered a call to Spring Branch Road in reference to a domestic. A dispute was between acquaintances living together. Upon the arrival of officers a Randy James Evans, age 28, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Evans has since been released on bond.
March 13, during a routine traffic stop on Highway 341 Eric Gordon Beecher was arrested and charged with drugs to be kept in original container, driving while license withdrawn, no headlights, and no insurance and transported to the Appling County Detention Center.
March 14, answered a call to Wayne Jones Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated known subject took her LG Venus cell phone.
March 14, answered a call to Blackshear Highway in reference to a theft. A complainant stated an unknown subject took her LG Triton phone and a bag of clothes.
March 15, answered a call to Brandon Street in reference to a domestic. A complainant stated there had been a verbal dispute due to family matters in reference to money. The complainant was advised to see magistrate.
March 15, met with a complainant in reference to an identity fraud incident. The complainant stated someone used her debit card without her permission. Investigation continues.
March 15, during a routine traffic stop on Plies Street resulted in the arrest of John Otis Skipper, age 30, of Hazlehurst. Skipper was charged with possession of marijuana.
March 15, answered a call to Terrace Drive in reference to a theft. A complainant stated that someone had taken her Shark vacuum cleaner from under her carport. Investigation continues.
March 16, answered a call to Buck Williams Road in reference to threatening phone calls. A complainant stated that the offender keeps calling her house and threatening her life. The complainant was advised to see the magistrate.
March 16, answered a call to Ezra Lane in reference to threats. A complainant stated his father had got into a verbal dispute and his father had threatened to kill him. The complainant was advised to see the magistrate.
March 16, answered a call to Kesler Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated known subject took a 25 gallon Craftsman air compressor, Campell- Hausfield 1/2 inch drive impact wrench; set of 1/2 inch drive deep well impact sockets, set of 1/2 inch drive impact swivel sockets, Cobalt paint gun, 4 1/2 angle grinders and 1/2 drive drill. Investigation continues.
March 16, during a routine traffic stop on Dub Baxley Road resulted in the arrest of Tiffany Michelle Williamson, age 26, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with transaction of drug related object and seatbelt violation and Marcus Glen Harper, age 38, of Pearson, was arrested and charged with seatbelt violation, transactions in drug related objects, and driving under influence of drugs. Due to evidence discovered in the traffic stop resulted in a search warrant for the residence of Tiffany Michelle Williamson. Evidence discovered at the residence resulted in the discovery of a working methamphetamine lab. Both Williamson and Harper were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine. Both are currently being held awaiting bond by a superior court judge. The Altamaha Drug Task force assisted in the investigation.
March 16, answered a call to Golden Isles West in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated someone had busted out the window of the store. Investigation continues.
March 17, during a routine traffic stop on U.S. 1 resulted in the arrest of Shonda Harper, age 31, of Pearson, and charged with possession of drug related objects.
March 17, answered a call to David Carter Road in reference to Threats. Complainant stated that known offender continues to make threats to him and his grandkids. Complainant was advised to see magistrate.
March 17, answered a call to Corey Street in reference to an identity fraud incident. A complainant stated someone has used her debit card to open up an account and to purchase other items. Investigation continues.
March 17, answered a call to Hilltop Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated known offender took $442.00 cash from her pocket. Investigation continues.
March 17, answered a call to Hilltop Road in reference to domestic. A complainant stated the known offenders came onto her property and a verbal dispute occurred. The complainant was advised to see magistrate in reference to this incident.
