Sheriff Benny Deloach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.
On June 1, answered a call to Spring Branch Church Road in reference to harassment. A complainant stated his neighbor accused him of killing their dog and spraying tomato plants killing them. The neighbor stated her dog was found but wants complainant to stay out of her yard. Both parties were advised to stay on their own property.
June 1, an officer received a report of harassing phone call on Milton Sellers Road. The UPS Investigator stated a box was missing from a delivery and the driver was threatened.
June 1, answered a call to Falcon Drive in reference to a dog bite. A complainant stated while walking her dog, a neighbor’s dog attacked her dog. The bitten dog was taken to the veterinarian. The neighbor agreed to pay the veterinary bill and also stated his dog was up to date on all his shots.
June 1, answered a call to East Hart Street of Surrency in reference to harassing text messages. A complainant stated a subject continues to send him harassing text messages.
June 1, answered a call to Chad Claxton Road in reference to burglaries. The doors to two different residences were kicked in. Nothing was taken from either residence. Investigation continues.
June 2, answered a call to Morris Landing in reference to a theft. A complainant stated unknown person or persons had entered several parked vehicles. Taken from the vehicles were wallets with money, identity and debit cards. Investigation continues.
June 2, answered a call to Zion Baptist Church Road in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated unknown subject(s) had damaged his mailbox.
June 3, answered a call to Morris Landing Road in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated he let a friend ride his four-wheeler and when he returned with the four-wheeler it had been wrecked and was damaged. The friend agreed to pay for all the damages.
June 3, answered a call to Carters Bite Road in reference to illegal dumping. A complainant stated someone had dumped a bag of garbage on his property. Some evidence was retrieved from garbage as to the owner. Investigation continues.
June 3, a complainant came to the Appling County Sheriff’s Office to report child neglect. The complainant stated when the mother of his five-year-old son brought him back from her visitation the child had second-degree sunburns. The child was taken for treatment. The DFACS was notified.
June 4, a complainant came to the Appling County Sheriff’s Office to report a theft on Pickett Road. The complainant stated she let some people stay at her house a few days and when they left they took several of her items. The complainant stated she would secure warrants.
June 4, answered a call to Golden Isles East in reference to damage to property. A tree had fallen on a parked vehicle during the storm.
June 4, answered a call to Piney Grove Church in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated someone had damaged his father’s grave. Investigation continues.
June 4, answered a call to Philippi Church Road in reference to a domestic dispute. A neighbor fired a gun into the air after she and subjects had a verbal dispute. The neighbor with gun stated she only wanted the dog to stop barking.
June 5, answered a call to Joe Smith Road in reference to sexual misconduct with juvenile. The complainant stated his daughter was riding a church bus and a subject she was sitting with put his hands on her. The Juvenile Justice Officer was notified and the case is under investigation.
June 5, answered a call to Faulk Road in reference to harassment. A complainant stated his brother continues to make threats against him.
June 6, answered a call to Buffkin Road in reference to a civil dispute. The complainant and family members are in dispute over property.
June 6, a routine traffic stop on Surrson Street resulted in the arrest of Dominic Jose Crayton, 30, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
June 6, answered a call to Johns Lane in reference to a theft. A complainant stated he loaned his friend his lawn mower several months and would not return the mower.
June 7, answered a call to Rock Point road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated she had a visitor at her home and when the visitor left she realized her pearl necklace valued at $800.00 was missing. A warrant has been secured for an arrest.
June 7, answered a call to County Farm Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The complainant stated she and her male friend had an altercation. The subject left the residence before officer arrived.
June 8, answered a call to Lamar Crosby Road in reference to a prowler. The complainant stated someone was beating on her door trying to get into her residence. The officer checked the residence and no evidence was found of anyone trying to break in.
