A large crowd gathered at the Crossties Building on Monday, June 4, to learn the fate of Pirate baseball standout Byron Buxton.

The Twins website states, “The Twins didn’t Draft first overall, but they still got the player many believe to be the most talented in this year’s class.” Byron (bottom left) is shown above with his parents, Carrie and Felton, and family as the announcement is made on the giant television monitors at Crossties. Hundreds attended the announcement party.
