W. M. Stone, Jr.
W. M. Stone, Jr., 81, of West Columbia, S.C. widower of Bobbie Jean Shealy Stone, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2011. Born in Appling County, he was the son of the late Willie M. Stone, Sr. and Mary Jane Carson Stone. He was a member of Columbia First Seventh-day Adventist Church and retired from Shealy’s Millwork and Supply.
Surviving are his son, Mike Stone (Darlene) of Tryon, NC; daughter Barbara Stone of West Columbia, S.C.; daughter-in-law, Debbie Stone of Spring City, PA. He was preceded in death by his son, Terry Stone, sister, Alcie Singletary and two brothers, Del Stone and James Stone.
Funeral services for W. M. Stone, Jr., were at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 9 in the chapel at Celestial Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Officiating was Pastor Glen Altermatt. Entombment followed the service. The family received friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service in the Mausoleum Chapel. Memorials may be made to Palmetto Children’s Hospital, PO 100199, Dept. 274, Columbia, S.C. 29202.
