Luke Dyal headed to GAE’s State Spelling Bee

Appling County Middle School seventh grader Luke Dyal is heading for the GAE State Spelling Bee. Dyal represented Appling County Middle School at the Appling County Spelling Bee and was named Appling County Spelling Bee Champion.

He then advanced to the District Eight Spelling Bee held at Waycross College. After a challenging competition, Dyal spelled his way to the top round and was named champion of the Eighth District Spelling Bee. Dyal will compete in the Georgia Association of Educator’s State Spelling Bee in Atlanta. This will mark the 50th year of the GAE Spelling Bee.

Luke Dyal is the twelve-year old son of Angela and Farris Dyal. He is an avid reader and has won numerous reading, spelling, and academic awards. Appling County School System is proud of Luke’s accomplishments and wishes him much success in the state level competition.
