Fun Run and 5K winners with the trophies they won
Tree Trek winners announced
Fifty-nine runners competed in this year’s Baxley Tree Fest Tree Trek sponsored by the City of Baxley and the Baxley-Appling County Chamber of Commerce. Runners gathered early on Saturday, April 14, to scope out the course map and strategize with fellow competitors.
The competition was fierce in both the one mile Fun Run and 5K. Siblings, Frankie and Lydia Williams, were the overall male and female winners for the one mile Fun Run.
Bret Campbell and Ashleigh Lane won the overall male and female competition in the 5K, and veteran runners, Sam Peacock and Jane Causey, won the overall masters male and female in the 5K run. After the races, all competitors enjoyed steaming hot pancakes and great conversation at the Boy Scout Troup 472 Pancake Breakfast held across from the finish line. The City of Baxley would like to thank all the race participants and volunteers for making this year’s Tree Trek a great success.
