Miss Ogden and Mr. Griffis to wed on St. Simons Island
Jimmie Kaye Buffkin of Jesup announces the engagement of her daughter, Rachel Lauren Ogden of Jesup, to Grayson Stuart Griffis of Baxley, son of Greg and Amy Bedingfield Griffis of Baxley.
The bride-elect’s maternal grandparents are Donnie Buffkin and the late James David Buffkin of Jesup. She is a 2008 honor graduate of Wayne County High School.
She will graduate on May 5, 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the College of Coastal Georgia, where she is currently on the dean’s list. Miss Ogden is a member of the American Saddlebred Horse Association of Georgia and currently holds several winning horseback riding titles throughout the state of Georgia.
The bridegroom-elect’s maternal grandparents are the late Annelle Smith Bedingfield and the late Dr. James Andrew Bedingfield, Sr. of Baxley. His paternal grandparents are Luke and Jeraldine Griffis of Screven.
Griffis is a 2006 honor graduate and salutatorian of Appling County High School and a 2010 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He currently attends the College of Dental Medicine at Georgia Health Sciences University. He will graduate with a Doctorate in Dental Medicine degree in the spring of 2015.
The wedding is scheduled for May 19 at Epworth by the Sea on St. Simon’s Island. Due to limited seating the wedding and reception will be by invitation only.
