Georgia Legal Services to offer free legal assistance
Georgia Legal Services offers free legal assistance to low income and senior citizens for residents of Jeff Davis and Appling Counties.
Legal help or advice is typically provided in the following area: simple wills, financial powers of attorney, advance directives, simple probate matters, public housing evictions, foreclosures, termination of Food Stamps, Medicaid, and Social Security benefits or overpayments, and protecting unemployment benefits.
Georgia Legal Services also provides assistance for those who are victims of domestic violence.
Residents of Appling and Jeff Davis counties may call 1-877-808-0553 to schedule an appointment.
The office will meet residents at the following locations:
Jeff Davis County- Second Tuesday of each month, from 10:00 – 12:00 at The Concerted Services Center, 42 Jeff Davis Street, Hazlehurst.
Appling County- Second Tuesday of each month, from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. at The Concerted Services Center, 57 Harvey Street, Baxley.
