Dear Editor and citizens of Appling County,
I guess you want to know, why, when and where, however that is not important, but it is more important than we realize that the sick have a right to be seen at the hospital regardless of race, creed, color or gender.
How can the facilities continue to function without patients?
If we don’t help the sick then who will?
Recently I had the opportunity to speak with a CNA at another health care facility and she informed me that their was a patient that came to our health care facility for medical attention and was refused medical care and attention for the lack of insurance (no insurance).
His family had to take him to another facility and he had to be hospitalized. Where are we going from here? What will be the outcome in the future for our facilities? We are all human, animals get better attention, and we don’t know the physical, mental or financial condition of our fellowman. Do we really care about people in general?
Some rules and regulations need to be changed if we are going to survive financially. Jesus didn’t turn anyone away; are we more powerful than Him? God is watching and we need to consider every individual’s needs regardless; and put ourself in that family’s position. Think about it!
I wonder what would happen if we experienced a tornado, hurricane, flood or drought. We are not going to be spared from a disaster, it’s coming and we need to consider others. What if or how would we feel if it was a member in our own family? If we had control of our physical condition we wouldn’t need medical facilities, and the care that they provide.
In closing, I ask this question, “If we don’t help the sick then who will?”
