The Pirates have three games this week first at Wayne County (6-5, 1-2 Region 2A-AAAA) on March 19, at home against McIntosh County Academy (4-7, 1-3) on March 20 and at Statesboro (6-4, 1-2 Region 2B-AAAA) on March 24.
The Pirates are still ranked number one in the State AA Coaches Poll followed by fellow Region 2AA member Pierce County (10-2, 5-1).
Pirates defeat Bulldogs in lightening shortened contest 6-0
The Pirates defeated the Toombs County Bulldogs 6-0 on Friday, March 16 with the game being called after six innings due to lightening in the area. The Pirates extended their winning streak to 11 games overall and six in a row in region 2AA. For more information please visit

Pirates Handle Tide 11-1
The Pirates took on the Long County Blue Tide in Baxley in a Region 2AA game Tuesday night, March 13. The Pirates would prevail 11-1 in six innings. The Pirates were sluggish in the early going only able to gather one run on two hits and one run through two innings.
The bats started to heat up in the bottom of the third as the Pirates scratched three more runs to take a 4-0 lead. Jeremy Ammons found a pitch to his liking and delivered a two-run homerun over the left field fence for his third homerun of the year.
Starting pitcher Josh Barber allowed the only Blue Tide run of the night in the top of the fourth inning. He got into a little trouble after quickly striking out the first two batters of the inning. A single, a walk and two batters being hit by pitches forced a run home. Barber settled down and got a ground out to end the threat.
The Pirates sent ten batters to the plate in the fifth and scored six runs to put the game out of reach in the bottom half of the fifth inning. Guner Sellers aided the cause with his second homer of the year.
The Pirates led after five by the score of 10-1. They would add a single run in the bottom of the sixth to reach the mercy rule and end the game on a walk-off single by Byron Buxton.
