Kimberly “Kim” Thomas Griffin, 33, died Saturday, February 19, 2011 at her residence. Kim was born Sept. 28, 1977 in Appling County and had resided here all of her life. She was an EMT and had been employed with Pierce County. Kim was serving with the Appling County Emergency Agency as an EMA Technician. She was active in the band boosters and had served as President of the Appling County Middle School Band Boosters. Kim was a member of Baxley Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jason Griffin of Baxley; one daughter, Hope Thomas of Baxley; father and mother, Jim and Janice Thomas of Baxley; two sisters, Kindra Sellers and husband, Ike of Sapelo Island and Heather Farmer and husband, Dustin of Hazlehurst; one brother, Kevin Thomas and wife, Frannie of Baxley; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Glenn and Shirley Griffin of Baxley; grandfather-in-law, Grady Griffin of Baxley; one nephew, Camden Farmer including two nephews, five nieces and several aunts and uncles also survive.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 22 at Baxley Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs. David Amburgey and Wayne Williamson officiating. Interment followed in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Michael Beecher, Marshall Thompkins, Scott Farris, Curtis Griffin, Donnie Herrington, Ryan Quinn, Ricky Cleland and Travis Bell.
Honorary pallbearers were Appling County EMA and Brandi Wicker.
Musical selections were rendered by the Rev. Billy Gardner, Floyd Hunter and David Williams.
Arrangements were under the direction of David E. Miles Funeral Home.
