On Thursday, January 26, Superintendent Scarlett Copeland, principals and employees of Appling County Primary School and Appling County Middle School met with various dignitaries to officially cut the ribbon on new facilities at both schools.
The first ceremony was held at Appling Primary and featured the brand new Pre-K facility located on the south side of the complex. Shown right is Congressional District 1 Georgia School Board Member Linda Zechmann, of Waycross, congratulating the community on the new facilities. Shown are the ribbon cuttings held at the at both locations.
ACMS Principal Dr. Lynn Overstreet is shown cutting the ribbon on new classrooms at Appling Middle School, pictured below, and ACPS Principal Brenda Harvey is shown cutting the ribbon of the new Pre-K facility, pictured above.
City, county and chamber officials joined in opening the new facilities. The construction projects were funded by ESPLOST III. The new Pre-K wing is expected to open to students on Feb. 6.
