Sheriff Benny Deloach would like to report the following incidents handled by deputies with the Appling County Sheriff’s Department.
On January 12, answered a call on Herrington Road in reference to a theft. Taken were some old boards off of an old house without permission. Boards were worth about $100.00. Investigation continues.
Jan. 13, answered a call on Tupelo Circle in reference to harassment. The complainant stated that several neighborhood children had been walking by her residence and calling her dog out to the road. The dog follows the children off. Complainant stated that she just wanted the children to leave the dog alone.
Jan. 13, answered a call on Griffin Road in reference to threats. The complainant stated that her ex-husband’s wife had been sending threatening text messages to her.
Jan. 13, answered a call at CAB Enterprises in reference to a theft. Taken was some electrical wire.
Jan. 13, answered a call to Hwy. 341 in reference to a two-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.
Jan. 13, answered a call on Sandy Road in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated that someone had been tearing up his gates and busted out the glass on a shed that he owned.
Jan. 14, answered a call on Hutcheson Road in reference to Child Molestation. Complainant stated that a three-year-old child was molested by a juvenile. Investigation continues.
Jan. 14, answered a call to McClure Lane in reference to a missing person. The complainant stated that she had not seen her uncle since February of 2005. Case will be turned over to the investigators.
Jan. 15, answered a call at Appling ER in reference to an assault that had already occurred. Victim stated that an argument escalated between he and the offender and the offender threw a kitchen knife at his foot, striking it and causing it to bleed. The victim was transported to the ER by a witness. Victim stated it was an accident.
Jan. 15, answered a call to Old Surrency Road in reference to a dog bite. The complainant stated that he was walking down the road, saw a bulldog and tried to feed it. The dog snapped at the complainant and bit his hand. The dog ran off into the woods.
Jan. 15, answered a call on Henry Thomas Road in reference to a theft. Taken was a 2004 Dodge Ram truck. Investigation led to the finding of the vehicle in the ditch.
Jan. 16, answered a call to Hill Top Road in reference to harassment. The complainant stated that the offender continues to call his wife. Complainant wishes for the offender to not have any contact with their family.
Jan. 16, a routine traffic stop on US 1 North/Harvey Street resulted in the arrest of Christopher Steven Eason, age 27, of Baxley. Eason was arrested and charged with VGCSA - crack cocaine, drugs to be kept in original container,
possession of drug related objects, and no brake lights.
Jan. 17, answered a call to Kennedy Road in reference to arson. The complainant stated someone tried to set his building on fire. Complainant stated he put the fire out with the water hose.
Jan. 17, answered a call to Hoppy Trail in reference to harassment. A complainant stated his ex-wife’s family has been harassing him.
Jan. 18, answered a call to Sumner Road in Surrency in reference to a theft. The complainant stated an unknown person(s) pried open the door to his residence and took several items valued at $1,000.00. Investigation continues.
Jan. 18, a complainant came to sheriff’s office to report a theft of checks on Gardenia Circle. The complainant stated a family member had taken two checks, forged his signature and cashed them at a local store. Warrants have been secured for the arrest of Jonathan Turner.
Jan. 19, a councilman of the City of Graham stated subjects came to his residence making threats towards him if he brought up an agenda at the Graham City Hall meeting.
Jan. 19, answered a call to Alpine Drive in reference to a theft. The complainant stated his friend took his pistol and would not return it.
Jan. 19, a routine traffic stop on Satilla Church Road resulted in the arrest of Julius Earl Butler, age 26, of Baxley. Butler was charged with possession of marijuana.
