Wanell Baxley
Wanell Baxley, 89, died Saturday, January 7, 2012 in the Pavilion. Wanell was born in Appling County Jan. 29, 1922 and had lived here all of her life. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Baxley. Mrs. Baxley was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lee Baxley. Wanell was the daughter of the late Troy Britt and the late Ethel Simmons Britt.
Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Ray and Mary Baxley and Wallace Baxley and fiancé, Karen Creamer of Baxley; three sisters, Alice Griffin and Juanita Hopkins of Baxley and Betty Blocker of McDonough; five grandchildren: Jason Ray Baxley, Christopher Lee Baxley, Clint Baxley, Kevin Baxley and Lacey Etters, six great-grandchildren: Jasanna, Chason and Rylan Baxley and Chandler, Jaden and Jackson Etters and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14 in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Brother Norman Carlson officiating. Interment will follow at a later date.
Arrangements were under the direction of David E. Miles Funeral Home.
