Pirates go 1-1 on the week

The Appling County Pirates basketball team hosted the Brantley County Herons on Friday, January 14. The Pirates played hard but could not hold onto a halftime lead losing a close game 47-56.

The Pirates hosted the Long County Blue Tide on Saturday, January 15 and were able to pick up big region win by a score of 61-58. With the victory the Pirates improve to 6-9 overall on the season and 2-7 in region 2AA play.

The Pirates will travel to Tattnall County on Tuesday, January 18 and will travel to Vidalia on Friday, January 21. Both games are scheduled to follow the Lady Pirate games, which are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
