The City of Baxley will hold a Called Meeting on February 7, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall located at 282 E. Parker Street, Baxley, Georgia. The primary purpose of called meeting is a public hearing as well as any other business that may come before the Mayor and Council. The public hearing will offer opportunities for comments on the following properties (1) zoning amendment (2) petitions for annexation. Legal descriptions as follows:
(1) Zoning Amendment – (Property owned by Brad Rentz - 241 Polly Ogden Lane)
All that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the Second Land District of Appling County, Georgia, consisting of 2.0 acres, more or less, of original Land Lot No. 333, and being bound as follows: North by lands of Willie Harris and Bert Smith; East by a road; South by a canal; and West by lands of Willie Harris and Bert Smith. Said lands being more accurately shown according to a survey and plat thereof by Denean W. Dixon and Associates, Land Surveyors, dated January 4, 1974, and a copy of said plat being of record in Office, Clerk of Superior Court, Appling county, Georgia, in Plat Book 7, page 215, and by reference incorporated herein for all purposes.
(2) Annexation – (Property owned by Ricky Johnson – 43 Harry Street)
All that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the Second Land District of Appling County, Georgia, and being a portion of Land Lot No. 292, being more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the intersection of western right of way of Jackson Drive with the northern right of way of Harry Street; thence West 200 feet along the northern right of way of Harry Street; thence North in a strip of equal width 200 feet. Said tract of land being bound on the North by other lands of the Grantor, the lines being agreed upon and shown on the attached drawing; East by Jackson Drive; South by Harry Street; and West by Lots 9 and 10 of Block F as shown on the attached drawing.
(3) Annexation – (Property owned by Mary Lee Wilkerson – 409 Russell Road)
All that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the Second Land District of Appling County, Georgia, consisting of one (1) acre more or less, of Original land lot No. 286, and bound as follows: North, East and West by lands of Leroy Russell; South by a county road. Said land being more fully described as follows: To find the point of commencement start at the intersection of the West line of a county road, with the North line of a county road, which said county road leads to the Poor Robin Paved Road, and from said point of intersection run West along said county (the road leading to Poor Robin Paved Road) a distance of 535 feet, to the POINT OF COMMENCEMENT, and from said point run North 84º 30’ West, along said road, a distance of 210 feet; thence turn and run North 1º 10’ West a distance of 210 feet; thence turn and run South 84º 30’ East a distance of 210 feet; thence turn and run South 1º 10’ East a distance of 210 feet, to the point of beginning. Said land being more accurately shown according to a survey and plat thereof by Allen T. Beach, County Surveyor, dated April 3, 1979, and a copy of same being attached hereto and made a part hereof.
