First baby of 2012 is a boy!
JaMauri Marcale Ryals was the first baby of the year for 2012 born in Appling County at Appling Healthcare System. The mother and baby are entitled to prizes from The Baxley News-Banner’s first baby of the year contest. Prizes are awarded by this newspaper and various sponsors including: Abundant Life Pharmacy & Health Food, Chele’s Gifts, Fulghum Drug Store, Sarah’s Florist and Gifts, Peoples State Bank, Interstate Credit Union, Jada’s, FNB South, Barnes Pharmacy and Twin Communications.
JaMauri’s proud parents are Stephanie Katrina Green Mackey and Torri Johnell Ryals. He was born at 3:20 p.m. on January 2, 2012, and weighed 6 lbs. and 6 oz. and was 19 inches long. He was delivered at the Appling Healthcare System by Dr. John Crane.
JaMauri joins older sisters: Shasmine Green, 17, Drasia Mackey, 13, and Raziyah Mackey, 4, and brother Robbie Mackey, age 7. JaMauri is the grandson of the late Helen and Jimmy Green and Shirley Ryals and John Coleman of Lumber City. This was the first birth in Appling County in 2012.
