Midget Boys to play in Screven Co.

The Appling County Recreation 2016 Midget Boys All-Star Team won the District 2 Class C Championship recently in Hazlehurst. The team will now head to the Georgia Recreation and Park Association’s Class C State Tournament to be held in Screen County on Wednesday – Saturday, July 13 – July 16. Team members include Micheal Bass, Patrick Crosby, Dawson Griffis, Jason Larsen, Aiden Livingston, Malachi Mullis, Jordan Norris, Beau Grayson Peacock, Rylan Smiley, Rhett Stone and John Parker Tillman. Coaches for the team are Jeffery Simmons and Heath Sellers.

The Appling County Recreation 2016 Mite Boys All-Star Team recently won the District 2 Class C Championship in Hazlehurst. The team will now head to the Georgia Recreation and Park Association’s Class C State Tournament to be held in Madison/Monroe County on Thursday – Saturday, July 14 – July 16. Team members include Jack Carter, Issac Edenfield, Collin Ewaldsen, Greyson Hall, Camden Hickox, Nate Livingston, Luke McLellan, Carter Nail, Merrick Parker, Mykel Reed, Levi Reynolds and Wade Williams. Coaches for the team include James Lamar Wilcox, John Paul Ewaldsen and Bobby Edenfield.

Junior Boys to play in State Playoff

The Appling County Recreation Department’s Junior Boys Baseball Team will play host for the 2016 Georgia Recreation and Park Association’s Class C Junior Boys State Tournament on July 13 – 16 at the Appling County Recreation Complex. Team members include Shawn Brown, Brantly Carter, Ben Griffis, Thomas Higgins, Luke Hutchinson, Drew Jacobs, Cason Kirksey, Bailey Nail, Hunter Nobles, Memphis Nobles, Matthew Poblete, Eli Swain and Grant White. Coaches for the team are Jay Powers and Ken Thomason.
