Appling Deputies solve forgery case
Sheriff Benny Deloach reports that on May 30 Appling County Deputies arrested Mark Anthony Allen, 51, of Baxley, following an investigation of a forgery case that occurred in February, 2015, at a local convenience store in Baxley. Allen was charged with two counts of forgery in the fourth degree.

A Fulton County grand jury has indicted a former Glynn County chief judge who resigned from the bench Jan. 2, 2012, rather than face discipline, said Lester Tate, chairman of the state Judicial Qualifications Commission.

Leaders Graduate from the Georgia Academy for Economic Development
The Board of the Georgia Academy for Economic Development announces graduates from the 2015 Region 9 Multi-Day Training Program. Class participants represented a number of professional and non-professional economic development fields, including elected officials, public servants, business leaders, educators, and social service providers from 13 counties in the Heart of Georgia/Altamaha region. The Academy provided each of the graduates an opportunity to gain a unique understanding of the complexities of economic and community development on the local, regional, and state levels.
