Dear Editor,
Words can never express my gratitude for the outpouring of love shown to me during the appreciation dinner held in my honor on Saturday, February 16 at the Parker Harrell Center. So many friends, family and colleagues showed up to express their love and support. Thank you for your attendance, gifts and words of expression. Thank you to ACHS band
Dear Editor,
District 8 Honor Band was held at Epworth by the Sea Thursday through Saturday, January 31 - February 2. My daughter, a ninth grade band student from Bacon County, was excited about her first high school Honor Band experience.
That excitement was quickly dimmed however, when she was treated as an unwelcomed interloper by the cabin mates to which she was assigned, all girls from a county I won’t name here. [Full Story »]

The problem is not guns, the problem is MORALITY
Dear Editor,
All this hysteria about guns is ridiculous. The “experts” are talking in circles as they attempt to solve the tragedy. The problem is not guns, the problem is MORALITY. [Full Story »]

Thank you Secret Angels
Dear Editor,
On behalf of the Appling Community Connection Inc. volunteers, we would like to thank all of you Secret Angels out there who made Christmas possible for 400 children in Appling County. All the businesses who challenged their staff and then other businesses to do the same, all of the change you placed in Jingle Jars all over town, all of you who handmade gifts, collected toys, and did our secret shopping, the media who reminded the community of needy children, all of the organizations, individuals, banks, law enforcement, Middle GA Probation, corporations, clubs, schools, churches, and agencies who pulled together to coordinate this huge project. Some of you we will never know and you may never meet the families you served through the Secret Angel Toy project. However, you have been a blessing to many families and children and helped them have a very Merry Christmas! [Full Story »]
