By Matt Gardner

Twiggs informed the commissioners that the recreation board discussed the possibility of moving the fence further back to make each field 200 ft., which would allow other youth to play on the fields due to T-ball season being completed before most other leagues begin to play. Twiggs also shared that the new fields would meet requirements to allow Appling County to host weekend youth baseball and softball tournaments due to the length of the field and grass infields.
