Peanut Butter response, terrific!
Dear Editor and Community,
During the month of October, the Appling County churches were asked to help with the supply of peanut butter for the Appling County Food Bank. The food bank was facing a shortage, due to supplies not being available through USDA and SNAP programs. On Monday, after the first Sunday of October, a couple of gentlemen came to the food bank and stated their pastor announced the need for peanut butter; they went out and bought eight flats of peanut butter and made the donation. Congratulations to Judge Kelley on state appointment
Dear Editor,
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to congratulate Brunswick Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge Stephen D. Kelley on his appointment by Governor Nathan Deal to serve on the State Commission on Family Violence.
The entire state will benefit from Judge Kelley’s service on the commission, which works with judges, advocates, law enforcement, medical professionals, educators and concerned citizens across the state to develop a coordinated community response to address the problem of family violence in Georgia. Christmas for Wounded Warriors 2012
Dear Editor,
Please help us grant a Merry Christmas to all the children of our Wounded Warriors at Fort Stewart in Hinesville. Asbury United Methodist Church is joining others across the state in accepting new unwrapped toys or donations for the children of the Wounded Warriors. There will be a party at the Warrior’s Transition Battalion at Ft. Stewart that will be specifically for Wounded Warriors and their families. The Wounded Warriors at the base will be able to choose toys to give to their children from the toys you donate. [Full Story »]

What happened to God Bless America?
Dear Editor,
When the planes struck on 9/11 ten years ago, everyone became frightened and began to pray and ask God to bless America. There were signs on automobiles, stores and houses asking God to bless America. But after a month or more passed, everyone returned to their every day routines and going their separate ways. Statements were made that there would be bigger, better, and taller buildings built to replace the towers. We stopped praying. Stopped loving one another and showing compassion for one another, but God was still watching. He sees all we do, hears all we say and we take Him for granted; forgetting that He is in control. That is the problem with our society. We want to be totally in control. [Full Story »]
