Sheriff Reports on Fatal Accident on Poor Robin Road

On November 24 at approximately 8:53 p.m. Appling County Sheriff’s Office along with Georgia State Patrol responded to a one-vehicle accident that occurred on Poor Robin road at the intersection of Holmesville Road. The accident resulted in the fatality of Michael Rodney Tillman, age 53, of Surrency. The accident is under the investigation of Georgia State Patrol. [Full Story »]

Experience Works, the nation’s largest nonprofit training and employment organization for older workers, has honored Gail Tabor of Baxley for her outstanding service to local older workers. Ms. Tabor has received the organization’s Changing Lives award, which recognizes her efforts to help low-income older workers obtain the training they need to find good jobs in their communities. One election result that was not included in last week’s issue for the General Election held on Tuesday, November 6, was the race for Appling County Commissioner, District 2.
