Local child advocates to attend JUSTGeorgia/CASA Day

JUSTGeorgia/CASA Day at the Capitol will take place on Tuesday, February 7, at the State Capitol in Atlanta. Child advocates from Tri-County CASA plan to attend.

An annual event hosted by JUSTGeorgia and Georgia Court Appointed Special Advocates (Georgia CASA), Inc., the day centers around CASA volunteers, board members, staff and JUSTGeorgia coalition members from across the state meeting with members of the Georgia Legislature and sharing their concerns about the abused and neglected children in foster care that their CASA programs serve. Heritage Center to hold Support Meeting

The Appling County Heritage Center will hold its regularly scheduled support meeting at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 5 at the Center on Thomas Street. The speaker for the afternoon will be Rebecca Ogden. The topic will be on Black History, observing Black History Month. Ms. Ogden always gives an informative presentation. [Full Story »]

The Appling County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) supports the National Weather Service in observing February 6 through February 10 as Severe Weather Awareness Week in Georgia.
