Sheriff’s office reports several burglaries and other incidents

June 22, over the last few weeks several burglaries have occurred throughout the county. The county responded to a residence on Sandhill Road and East River Road as well at the Nature Conservancy. A selection of chainsaws, guns, boat motor, and a leaf blower were taken. Further investigation revealed that Christopher Owen Byrne, 28, of Baxley, and Christopher Michael Moore, 29, of Baxley, was involved. Byrne was arrested and charged with theft by taking and burglary. Moore was arrested and charged with theft by taking. They are currently being held in the county jail. [Full Story »]
