William Frank Brewer
William Frank Brewer, 73, of Alma died suddenly at his residence Thursday, January 13, 2011. He was a native of Telfair County but had lived in Baxley from 1970–1990 then moved to Bacon County. Frank was son of the late Randolph Jack Brewer and Frankie Hulett Brewer, his wife Zennith Johnson Brewer, and a sister; Virgina Rozier preceded him in death. He was a retired construction contractor all over the Southeast and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Kenneth Ray “Billy” DeLoach, Sr., 73, died Monday, January 10, 2011 in the Serenity Place in Dublin. Mr. DeLoach was a native of Appling County and was born Dec. 3, 1937 to the late Area Linton DeLoach and the late Nettie Elizabeth Baxley DeLoach. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church. Billy was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of Appling War Veterans. He was a retired truck driver after 40 years.

Arron Randall Evans, 21, died Saturday, January 8, 2011 in Brunswick. Arron was born in Appling County on Oct. 26, 1989 and was residing in Richmond Hill. Mr. Evans was a junk dealer. He is the son of Randy Evans. Arron was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lewis and Emily Evans.

Luther Hugh Hulett, 63, died Monday, January 3. Grave side funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 6, in the Hulett Cemetery.

Stacy Carroll Herrington, 41, died Thursday, December 30, 2010 in the Appling Healthcare System. Stacy was born in Jeff Davis County on Dec. 23, 1969 and had lived in Appling County all of his life. He was disabled and was a graduate of Appling County High School Class of 1988. Mr. Herrington was a member of Friendship Congregational Christian Church.

William Henry Hand, Sr., 68, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Appling Healthcare System. Mr. Hand was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County and was born Dec. 4, 1942 to the late Gilman Hand and the late Annie May Johnson Hand. He was a retired equipment operator for Rayonier. Mr. Hand was preceded in death by a son, David Earl Hand and a brother, Donnie Hand.

James “Jim” Feltham, 80, died Thursday, January 6, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Feltham was born Sept. 20, 1930 in Anniston, Alabama to the late William Feltham and the late Beatrice Orwin Feltham. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Japan. He was retired as President of AKZO Chemical Company. Mr. Feltham was active in Boy Scouts and had achieved the Silver Beaver Award. He was a member of the Appling Country Club and the Baxley Lion’s Club. Jim was very active in other civic and community affairs. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Feltham, a son, William Feltham and two brothers, Kenneth W. F. and Donald J.A. Feltham.

William David Branch, 92, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in the Community Hospice in Vidalia. Mr. Branch was born Feb. 7, 1918 in Appling County to the late Dr. Willis Dave Branch and the late Rosalie Dozier Branch. He was a member of First Baptist Church of St. Simons Island. Mr. Branch was former owner and operator of Utopia Cleaners and Southeastern Monument Company.
