Geraldine Hardee Sampson, 80, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2011 at Beacon Place Hospice Home in Greensboro, N.C. after a 30-year battle with cancer. Her funeral service will be held at Guilford College United Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28.
Geraldine was born to the late Ike and Iona Hutto on September 20, 1931 in Baxley. A Greensboro, North Carolina resident for over 60 years, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt. She was a devoted member of Guilford College United Methodist Church and retired from Dillard Paper Company in 1992.
Geraldine was predeceased by her husband, Ted Hardee, in 1992 and her second husband, Alfred Sampson, in 2004.
She is survived by her son, S. Gary Hardee, her daughter-in-law, April Hardee and her grandson, Alex Hardee, as well as her sister, Fonida Thomas and two brothers, Quinton and Al Hutto.
Visitation was held at Forbis and Dick Funeral Home on W. Friendly Avenue from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27.
