Wade Googe
Wade Googe, 80, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011 at his residence in Rock Hill, S.C. He was born on Feb. 2, 1931 in Appling County and had resided in South Carolina since 1988. Mr. Googe was a self-employed construction worker before retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served in the Korean War. Wade was the son of the late John W. Googe and the late Lucille Overstreet Googe. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Donald Googe.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Googe of Rock Hill, S.C.; one son, Dennis (Kathy) Googe of Rock Hill, S.C.; one granddaughter, Katie Googe of Rock Hill, S.C. and a half-sister, Faye Hiers of Darien.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 in the chapel of David E. Miles Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Sollosi officiating. Interment followed in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Tom Sollosi, Frank Bragg, Jr., Sherwin Underwood, Aaron Beckworth, Richard Beckworth and Trevor Floyd.
Musical selections were rendered by Floyd Hunter and David Williams.
Arrangements were under the direction of David E. Miles Funeral Home.
