Sheriff Benny DeLoach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.
Dec. 1, answered a call to Lennox Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated he found two locations where copper had been cut from transformers and regulators from Satilla REMC. If you have any information, please contact the Appling County Sheriff’s Office or Satilla REMC.

Dec. 3, answered a call to Ten Mile Road in reference to an unruly juvenile. A complainant stated his fourteen-year-old son had left home and not returned. Juvenile information was entered into GCIC and Bolo was given to surrounding counties. The juvenile was later found.
Dec. 3, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report cruelty to children.
Father got his child for a weekend visit and saw bruises on the arm of the child. A DFACS caseworker was notified and interviewed all parties involved.
Dec. 3, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report identity fraud. A complainant stated an unknown person tried to use his social security number to obtain a credit card in his name. Investigation continues.
Dec. 3, answered a call to Heath Street in reference to a theft. A complainant stated several guns, valued at $1,000.00, were taken from his residence. The Complainant stated the possible suspect maybe a family member. No forced entry was noted to residence. Investigation continues.
Dec. 3, answered a call to Midway Church Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated a county trashcan had been stolen.
Dec. 4, answered a call to Wisteria Lane in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated unknown person(s) pried open the back door of his residence and stole a shotgun. Investigation continues.
Dec. 4, answered a call to Cain Road in reference to harassing phone calls. The ex-boyfriend of the complainant continues to text threatening messages.
Dec. 4, answered a call to Cook Street in reference to a possible overdose. A father found his daughter passed out in her bedroom. When the officer arrived the daughter was breathing normally and responsive. The Appling EMS was dispatched and transported the subject to the Appling County Emergency Room for medical and mental evaluation.
Dec. 4, answered a call to Lake Mayers Road in reference to an alleged suicide attempt. A complainant stated the subject had cut his wrist with a razor and ran away from the residence. The subject was not able to be located nor was there any evidence of the alleged event inside or outside of the residence.
Dec. 5, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report a theft. The complainant stated his deer stand, valued at $278.00, was stolen from the woods.
Dec. 5, answered a call to Highway 144 in reference to a domestic dispute. A girlfriend stated her boyfriend had hit her. William Lynn, 32, of Blackshear, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and other warrants are forthcoming for battery.
Dec. 5, answered a call to San Marco Drive in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated a subject entered the residence by a bathroom window and took two guns, a Dell lap top computer and a man’s gold bracelet. The complainant stated possible suspect maybe a girlfriend. Investigation continues.
Dec. 5, answered a call to Kersey Street in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated unknown person(s) pried open the door of his shop and took money, checks, handgun and cameras. Brian David Spell, 28, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with burglary.
Dec. 5, answered a call to Sellers Road in reference to a theft by deception incident. A complainant stated he advertised his motorcycle on Craig’s List for sale. A subject came to his residence and purchased the motorcycle with a cashier’s check from Savannah and left with the motorcycle. The bank contacted the complainant and stated the cashier’s check is a forgery. An investigation has revealed Craig Allen Delaney of Savannah committed the above offenses. Warrants have been secured for theft by deception and forgery.
Dec. 6, answered a call to Wayne Jones Road in reference to a civil matter. A complainant stated his landlord had made threats against him. He was given an eviction notice and still had several days to move.
Dec. 6, answered several calls to Alpine Drive in reference to a domestic dispute. A Stacy Earl Mobley, 37, and Kimberly Dawn Mobley, 34, were both arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
Dec. 6, answered a call to Bud Miles Road in reference to a theft in progress. A complainant stated she saw a subject taking scrap metal from her property without anyone’s permission. Robert Alton Wheeler, 40, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with three counts theft by taking, fleeing or attempting to elude police officer, speeding, reckless driving and tail lights required.
Dec. 6, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report a burglary. A complainant stated a family member gained entry into their residence and took several valuable coins and sold them. Dara Zacher, 27, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with burglary.
Dec. 7, answered a call to Miles Lake in reference to a civil matter. A complainant stated a friend let her store her belongings at his residence and would not let her have them back.
Dec. 7, a routine traffic stop on Ernest Kesler Road resulted in the arrest of Stephen Carroll Johnson, 26, of Baxley. Johnson was charged with DUI/drugs, no insurance, driving without license on person, driving when headlights required and taillights required.
Dec. 7, answered a call to Cook Street in reference to a theft. A complainant stated subjects entered his residence and took some video games. Investigation continues.
Dec. 7, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report a theft by deception. The complainant stated two subjects were going to several residences asking for money stating that a family member was in the hospital and they needed money. Ronnie Lee Bryant, 36, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with theft by deception.
Dec. 8, answered a call to Sandy Road in reference to a domestic dispute. A husband and a wife are separated and disputing over belongings. Both parties were advised to see the magistrate judge.
Dec. 8, answered a call to Lake Mayers Road in reference to financial fraud. A complainant stated an unknown subject had gained access to her checking account using a debit card making charges payable to Facebook. The complainant stated she does not own a computer. Investigation continues.
Dec. 8, answered a call to Fred Carter Road in reference to a dog case. A complainant stated his neighbor’s two Pitt Bull dogs came into his yard and killed his Lab dog, valued at $350.00.
Dec. 8, answered a call to Smith Road in reference to a domestic dispute. An altercation occurred between a husband and a wife. James Gregory Morris, 52, was arrested and charged with battery.
