William Martin “W.M.” Reeves, 85, died Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at the Pavilion. Mr. Reeves was born in Appling County Sept. 8, 1926 to the late James Edward and Eunice Stone Reeves. He was a member of Spring Branch Baptist Church. W.M. was preceded in death by his wife, Effie Mae Cain Reeves, a sister, Ethel Hipps and a brother, J.C. Reeves.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Trish Reeves and Burnette and Glynda Reeves, all of Baxley; three sisters, Christine Murray of Blackshear, Eveline Peacock and Betty Sellers, both of Baxley; four grandchildren, Blake Reeves, Shane Reeves, Stewart Reeves and Suzanne Reeves; and eight great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5 at Spring Branch Baptist Church with the Revs. Bryan Gill, Stewart Reeves and Billy Gardner officiating. Interment followed in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Blake Reeves, Shane Reeves, Stewart Reeves, Carter Reeves, Dwayne Sellers, Gary Murray and Jack Reeves.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Tonya Fordham and staff, Southern Care Hospice and the staff of “C” Hall of the Pavilion.
Musical selections were rendered by Dealva Johnson, Lorene Purcell, Lawanda Medders, Glynda Reeves the Rev. Bryan Gill.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
