Tommy F. “Tommy” Miles, 59, of Brunswick, died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Southeast Georgia Health System. Mr. Miles was born Sept. 26, 1951 in Jacksonville, Florida where he resided for 12 years until moving to Baxley. Tommy was the son of Joy Clause and the late Earl F. Miles, Sr. He worked as a barber at Glynn Place Mall Barber and Style. Mr. Miles was a member of Pine Haven Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl F. Miles, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Robin Miles of Brunswick; two daughters, Laurel Miles of Brunswick and Meta Brantley of Augusta; one step-daughter, Jennifer R. Meyers of Charlotte, N.C.; mother, Joy Clause of Orlando, FL; mom, Betty Miles of Baxley; four sisters, Claudia Johnston, Diane Wilson and Carol Taylor, all of Florida and Kim Jackson of Baxley; two brothers, Denny Lammi and Ricky Cumby, both of Florida; grandchildren: Genevieve Herrington, Abigail Herrington, Corinne Brantley and Jacqualine Latishaw and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Grave side services were held for Tommy Miles at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Pastor Sammy Chancey officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Terry Jackson, John Hardy, Keith Miles, Denny Lammi, Herchell Miles and Reggie Miles.
Honorary pallbearers were Joy and Marvin Smith, Ricky Cumby, Bernard Mixon, Archie Johnston, Mr. Lemnon, Pine Haven Baptist Church Family, Merrell Miles, Jewell Miles, Terry Brantley, David Black, Jack Turman, Richard Taylor, Steve Sims and Selvia Clark.
Musical selections were rendered by Gina Chancey.
