Floyd A. Mock, 66, died Friday, February 4, 2011 at the Pavilion. He was a native and life long resident of Appling County.
Mr. Mock was retired and had been employed as a beekeeper with York Bees before his retirement. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Carter and a brother, Franklin Mock. He was the son of the late Buster and Waunell Kersey Mock.
Survivors include his wife, Lela Mock of Baxley; one son and daughter-in-law, Ricky, Sr. and wife, Bridgette Mock of Baxley; two grandchildren, Broston Nails and Ricky Mock, Jr.; one sister, Caroline Morgan of Stedman, N.C.; one brother, Buddy Mock of Water Velete, MI; one great-granddaughter, Kailena Mock and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 7 in the chapel of David E. Miles Funeral Home with the Revs. Gary Conger and Dennis Bryant officiating. Interment followed in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Ricky Mock Jr., Carl Mansfield, Ronnie Tomberlin, Greg Faust, Larry Odum and Randy Jones.
Honorary pallbearers were all friends attending the funeral service.
Musical selections were rendered by Floyd Hunter, Danny Lewis and Christine Mansfield.
Arrangements were under the direction of David E. Miles Funeral Home.
