DEI Systems, Inc., out of Greenville, SC, and The Baxley News-Banner are pleased to announce the very first installation of the new Glunz and Jensen iCTP Newswriter in the state of Georgia at the Baxley newspaper.
Robert Yasi, president of DEI Systems, reported, “The Newswriter is, a 2-up and 4-up chemistry-free CtP system designed to help small to mid-size newspapers eliminate plate production errors, eradicate chemicals, waste and water usage – resulting in significantly lower energy bills. The Glunz and Jensen family of computer to plate systems are without a doubt the most environmentally-safe systems on the market.”
The new system has been up and running for the past three weeks and Editor and Publisher Jamie Gardner stated, that outside of a few minor adjustments, the system is operating flawlessly.
“We had been looking at a number of different systems that would allow the newspaper to go computer to plate,” said Gardner. “Then we discovered the Glunz and Jensen machine and learned that it is a chemistry-free process. After an initial test-run, we new we had a winner and best of all, no more harsh chemical processes are required in the production of this newspaper.”
