Sheriff Benny DeLoach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.
Nov. 18, a complainant came to the Appling County Sheriff’s Office to report a theft that occurred on George Craven Road. The complainant stated missing from her residence was several items of jewelry, valued at approximately $500.00. The complainant also stated the possible suspect may be a family member.

Nov. 18, answered a call to Collins Lane in reference to an assault. The complainant stated a family member hit him in the head with a ring on her hand. The offender had left the residence before officer arrived.
Nov. 19, answered a call to Lennox Road in reference to a burglary. The complainant caught some subjects in the act of taking items from his storage shed. The subjects eluded the complainant and ran through the woods. Investigation continues.
Nov. 20, answered a call to Parkers in Surrency in reference to a gas drive-off incident. The complainant identified subject that got $5.00 worth of gas and drove off. The subject was contacted and came back and paid for the gas. The complainant did not press charges.
Nov. 20, answered a call to Zoar Road in reference to criminal damage to property. The Satilla REMC transformer was shot with a firearm. Investigation continues.
Nov. 20, answered a call to Daisy Lane in reference to an affray. A complainant stated two subjects came to her residence and pulled her to the ground. Alleged offenders had left the residence before the officers arrived.
Nov. 20, a routine traffic stop on Highway 341 resulted in the arrest of Eleazar Perez Garcia, age 22, of McRae. Garcia was charged with DUI, driving without a license and speeding, also passengers: Eledzar Sanchez, age 20, of Helena, was charged with open container and possession of cocaine and Alfonso Moises, age 21, of Helena, was charged with open container in vehicle.
Nov. 20, answered a call to McDaniel Road in reference to vandalism. A complainant stated sometime during the night hours unknown person(s) spray painted obscene words on her mailbox.
Nov. 20, answered a call to South Main / Tollison Street in reference to a two vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.
Nov. 21, answered a call to Eula Courson Road in reference to littering. A complainant found two bags of trash on the side of the road. The complainant stated there has been a lot of trash on this road in the past.
Nov. 20, answered a call to Moody Altman Road in reference to a one-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.
Nov. 21, answered a call to Hatch Parkway South in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated missing was a moneybag, a nine-mm handgun and tools. The complainant named a possible suspect. Investigation continues.
Nov. 21, answered a call to Piney Bluff Road in reference to threats. A complainant stated that a subject that stays at his house continues to make threats toward him. The complainant wants this subject and his girlfriend to stay away from his residence.
Nov. 21, answered a call to Hatch Parkway North in reference to a theft. A complainant stated that unknown persons had taken approximately 50 batteries and 200 pounds of copper wire. Investigation continues.
Nov. 23, answered a call to Parkers/Surrency in reference to a gas drive off. A subject pulled up to the gas pumps and pumped $20.00 in gas and did not pay. The area was checked for vehicle but not found.
Nov. 23, answered a call to Citgo Store in Graham in reference to a gas drive off. A subject pumped $15.00 in gas and left without paying. The complainant did not have description of vehicle.
Nov. 23, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office in reference to terroristic threats. Tyrone Simmons, age 42, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with terroristic threats and acts, cruelty to children, harassing phone calls and aggressive driving.
Nov. 23, answered a call to Old Blackshear Road in reference to vandalism. The complainant stated someone put chicken in his mailbox and spray painted profane words on the outside of the box. Investigation continues.
Nov. 23, answered a call to Highway 144 in reference to a burglary. The complainant found a bicycle in her yard and the front and side door to the residence opened and the screen window torn out. Investigator was called and some juveniles were questioned and apprehended.
Nov. 23, answered a call to Quincy Lane in reference to a domestic dispute. A girlfriend and a boyfriend had an altercation. The boyfriend had left the residence before the officer arrived.
Nov. 24, answered a call to Alpine Drive in reference to a terroristic threats. Jamie Daniel Clance, age 31, of Hazlehurst, was arrested and charged with terroristic threats and harassing phone calls.
Nov. 24, a call was answered from East Allen Street in reference to harassing phone calls. The complainant stated she asked her husband for a divorce and he has continued to call her on the phone.
Nov. 24, answered a call to Buck Williams Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The wife stated her husband hit her on the hand. The complainant was advised to see the magistrate judge if she wanted to press charges.
Nov. 24, answered a call to Clifton Crosby Road in reference to harassment/trespassing. The complainant stated she and another subject had an altercation. The complainant stated she does not want this subject back on her property.
Nov. 24, answered a call to Lake Mayers Road in reference to a mentally ill subject. A family member stated her brother had not been taking his medication and was wandering around. The family member was advised to see the probate judge to seek further help for their brother.
Nov. 25, answered a call to Highway144 in reference to a civil matter. Two subjects have lived together for many years and separated. Both parties claim to own an electric stove as theirs.
Nov. 26, answered a call to Dogwood Lane in reference to a four-wheeler accident. Two juveniles were thrown from a four-wheeler. Parents took juveniles to Appling ER, but neither sustained serious injuries.
Nov. 27, answered a call to Avery Lane in reference to a domestic dispute. A husband and a wife had a verbal dispute. The wife left the residence with their two children.
Nov. 27, assisted Georgia State Patrol to a call to Spring Branch Road/Cattle Gap Road in reference to a vehicle accident with injuries.
Nov. 27, answered a call to Dupe Herndon Road of Surrency in reference to an elderly mental patient. The complainant stated her family member has been suffering from dementia and other mental problems. The subject was found walking down the road and was taken to Appling Healthcare for treatment.
Nov. 27, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report a stolen tag. The complainant stated he bought his tag last week and someone stole it out of his vehicle.
