Brooks’ to celebrate 50th wedding anniversary
Duane and Linda Brooks are looking forward to celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, November 23.
Mr. Brooks, and the former Linda Kicklighter, of Surrency, were married at Zion Baptist Church on a cold, rainy Thanksgiving afternoon in 1961 as family and friends gathered to witness and celebrate with the couple at three in the afternoon. After a honeymoon to the Smoky Mountains, they settled into a life in Baxley for the next 50 years that has been filled with many blessings.
They have been fortunate to have most of their loving family in the area, to enjoy worshiping with their wonderful First Baptist church family, to be able to raise their daughters Joni B. Jones, of Forsyth and Ella Ruth B. Belflower, of Cochran, as well as spend precious time with their four grandchildren Eli, Hayden, and Lydia Belflower, and Daniel Jones.
They thank God for bringing them together and pray He will continue his blessings on them for many years to come.
