Roger Dale Causey, 54, died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 in the Community Hospice in Vidalia. Mr. Causey was born in Appling County on Jan. 11, 1957 and had lived here all of his life. He was disabled and was previously employed with Glennville Manufacturing as a sewing machine mechanic. Roger was a graduate of Appling County Comprehensive High School and he was a member of Satilla Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Adam Causey and the late Mary Lee Stone Causey.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Causey of Baxley; one son, Derrick Causey of Atlanta; two sisters, Deborah Bryant and husband, Johnny M. and Judy Stone, all of Baxley; one brother, Danny Causey and wife, Jane Causey of Baxley; three nieces, Cassie Bryant, Janda Turner and April Poppell; one step son, Robert Michael Sharpe and wife, Lisa and two step-grandchildren, Abigail and Junior Sharpe.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13 at David E. Miles Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Brown and the Rev. Joey Andrews officiating. Interment followed in Oak View Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Royce Hulett officiating.
Active pallbearers were Mitchell Newham, Vernon Reffitt, Robert Sharpe, Jerry Causey, Mark Nail and Grady Miles.
Honorary pallbearers were Anita Reffitt, Tonya Miles, the staff of Community Hospice of Vidalia, Chris Nail, Judy Andrews, James and Linda Lott and the Mens Ministries of Oakland Baptist Church of Hazlehurst.
Musical selections were rendered by the Rev. Rick Brown.
Arrangements were under the direction of David E. Miles Funeral Home.
