City manager report
Manager Baxley reported he attended the chamber of commerce’s annual planning retreat Oct. 28-29 and has already received a summary of the items discussed.
The manager reported that the local option sales tax revenues for October totaled $62,763.29, which is lower than the previous three years.
He reminded everyone of the legislative reception that will be held at the Baxley/Appling County Chamber Nov. 17 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The manager stated that Councilman Pat Williams dropped off a letter he received from a company called Homeserve concerning purchasing insurance in the event he had damage to his water service line. He reminded everyone that the city’s policies have not changed and the city is responsible for any lines on public property and the property owner is responsible for any repairs to lines located on private property.
