Cecil L. Lightsey, 86, died Sunday morning (Nov. 6, 2011) at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Metter after an extended illness. Mr. Lightsey was a native of Appling County. He was a self employed roofer and painter. He was the son of the late Hiram and Rena Boyles Lightsey. He is also preceded in death by his son, Carson Lightsey.
Survivors include two sons, Carroll Lightsey of Blackshear and Calvin Lightsey of Waycross; one daughter, Renee Towns (husband, Darrel) of Waycross; eight grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bookie Lightsey, Buncum Lightsey and Lowell Lightsey, all of Atlanta; one sister, Evon Satterfield of Atlanta and numerous nieces and nephews.
Grave side services were held at 3:30 p.m. Friday (Nov. 11) at Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Appling County.
