Taylor Dominy, from Region 2AA, has been selected to participate in the Fourth Annual All-State Game. The Fourth Annual 2011 All-State Game, sponsored by the Georgia Dugout Club, will be hosted on November 11-12 at the Olympic Softball Complex in Columbus.
One of the main goals of the Georgia Dugout Club is to recognize and reward the talented softball players in the state of Georgia. Through the 2011 All-State Game the club feels this is accomplished by recognizing the top senior softball players in the state.
The process of selecting the all-state team started back in September when high school coaches could nominate their seniors for the team.
Throughout the year, the GADC directors and support staff watched players that were nominated and the week of the GHSA State Finals the teams were selected. The young ladies that were selected will represent their school and their region in a softball skills competition and by playing three games on the 12th in Columbus against the other top seniors in the state.
The four teams are divided up by regions; the teams will be comprised of players in all classifications representing Region one and two, Regions three and four, Regions five and six and Regions seven and eight.
Taylor Dominy is a senior at Appling County High School. She has been a four-year starter on the Lady Pirates Varsity Softball Team. The Lady Pirates coaches are Linsey Tillman, Bryan Weaver, and Landry Tillman. Taylor is the daughter of Andy and Sandy Dominy of Baxley.
