Dr. Warren Dale Ruhnau, 80, of Surrency, died Friday, October 28, 2011. Dr. Ruhnau was born Dec. 21, 1930 in Ontario, California to the late Jeffrey Boyles Ruhnau and the late Helena Elizabeth Ruhnau. He was a member of Jacksonville Dental Society, Delta Signa Dental Fraternity and a lifetime member of American Dental Association and Florida Dental Association. Dr. Ruhnau was a GP Dentist for 37 years in Jacksonville, FL and was a graduate of Emery Dental School in 1959. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as a Staff Sergeant. Dr. Ruhnau was preceded in death by a son, David K. Ruhnau.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Mann Ruhnau of Surrency; two sons, Darren Scott Ruhnau of Park City, UT and Dale Walter Ruhnau of Orange Park, FL; one sister, Barbara Donahue of Surrency; six grandchildren and four nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30 in the chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Revs. Gene Guerra and Roy Woods officiating. Eulogies were given by Dr. Lewis Walker, Dr. Terry Kilgore, Bill Bradshaw, Elizabeth Davis, Darren Ruhnau and Barbara Donahue.
Private graveside services with Military rites were held.
Active pallbearers were Scott Ruhnau, Todd Ruhnau, Dane Ruhnau, Alex Ruhnau, Solomon Mann and Dewayne Dawson.
Honorary pallbearers were all friends in attendance.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
