Kenneth Carroll “Rooster” Spell, Jr., 53, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 at his residence. Mr. spell was born April 18, 1958 in Appling County. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Spell, Sr. and two brothers, Dennis and Jimmy Spell.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Spell of Baxley; three daughters, Brandie Crapps of Baxley, Candice Spell and Janice Spell, both of Hazlehurst; one step-son, Jason (Olivia) Wynn of Tampa, FL; his mother, Veronice Nail Lewis of Baxley; one grandchild, Meliek Monroe and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Dubberly officiating. Interment followed in Zoar Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were George Nash, Gary Mullis, Chuck Nail, Charles Nail, Donnie Crapps and Patrick Spell.
Honorary pallbearers were nurses and staff of Serenity Hospice.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
