Johnnie Louise Johnson, 65, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 in Appling Healthcare System. Mrs. Johnson was born Jan. 26, 1946 in Irwin County to the late John Huey and Estelle Tanner Mathews. She was a member of the Full Gospel Bible Deliverance Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Roberts.
Survivors include her husband, John W. Johnson of Baxley; four daughters, Pam (Andy) Massey, Sandra Kay Hall, Dedra (David) Hooper, all of Baxley and Delynn Johnson of Daytona Beach, FL; one sister, Ruby Caves of Ambrose; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and twenty-five nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21 in the chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Rev. Bryan Gill officiating. Interment followed in Appling Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers were Heath Ashmore, Brandon Carter, Buddy Aspinwall, James Atkins, Josh Boatright and Randy Aspinwall.
Honorary pallbearers were Connie Zachery, Betty Page, Jeanette and Wilton Baxley, Lewis and Vickie Parker, Nancy and Jerry Boatright, Ruby Anderson, Donna Osteen, Shirley Taylor, Sylvia and Wilton Carter, Donna Carter, Phil Carter, Lake and Catherine Carter, Lisa Pearce, Rick Beecher, Bonnie Stone, Johnny and Linda McClain, Bruce Carson, Lara Bennett and Vicky Herrington.
Musical selections were rendered by Boy Kirkland, Susie Kirkland, Patsy Spivey and Larry Spivey.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
