The Georgia State Conference NAACP is in the process of reorganizing the Appling County Branch NAACP.
The Appling County Branch has to meet the requirements for election as outlined in the Constitution of The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and bylaws for units.
THE GEORGIA STATE AREA CONFERENCE will be responsible for conducting an election, as well as assisting with the rebuilding of membership, ensuring that executive committee and general membership meetings are conducted, and that standing committees are functioning in accordance with NAACP policy.

Lockey is the only spokesperson in Appling County authorized by the President Of Georgia State Conference NAACP to speak on matters pertaining to the NAACP in this area.
