What is it with some of these commercials these days? Take the Cialis commercial.
I was watching this couple sitting in separate cast iron bathtubs, waves lapping at the edge of their respective tubs, smiling at each other. In another scene they were up on a mountain top with the same getup; tubs and smiles.
I have to be honest in that by the time I toted the bathtubs to the beach or drug them up that mountain, I wouldn’t have been able to do anything else other than try to catch my breath and call the chiropractor to get my hip back in place and it wouldn’t matter how young and voluptuous my partner happened to be, that is, unless she was one of those weight lifters and was in shape to tote the tubs herself.
Lord, what if she had of been. She probably would have expected something out of me, and at this age and with my mindset; well, let’s just put it like this. Victoria doesn’t have any secrets I am interested in knowing. And if she does happen to have one little secret I have not uncovered (no pun intended), she can just dang well keep it to herself. I ain’t interested! I have more important things to do, like pick the lice off my turnips, and when I finish that, I’ll find some other more important chore to do, like give the dog a pedicure.
On another note, I’ll be glad when the next election is over. I was talking to one of my closest friends, Reverend Pyne Tarr, yesterday and we were discussing the political situation. He asked me how I planned to vote in a particular race and I told him honestly that I would not vote for either candidate. I said as how each of them had trashed the other until it was hard to figure out which one was the least of a rascal. He agreed and imparted some of his famous wisdom and I quote; “They say that where they is smoke they’s fire. This is mostly true and when it come to this political mess, you can be ‘sho ‘dat where they’s mud bein’ slung, ‘de mud slingingest one will be the one wid’ ‘de most slime on him!”
I asked him what all this meant for the future and he responded in his own inimitable way of folksy wisdom and truth and he said; “The scripture going to be fulfilled where it say that them that has much will have even mo’, and them that has little will have even less, and as for them that has nothin, even that shall be taken away.”

It is easy to be a philosopher when one has a few million drawing interest.
I enjoy humor very much, but I think his subject matter is not very funny. We all see the products advertised on television that he writes about in this article. Mr. Vickers, there are many other subjects you could write a column about. I do not care to read columns about any type of bodily functions!!
