David Larry Wolfe, Sr., died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011 in Jeff Davis Hospital in Hazlehurst. Mr. Wolfe was born in Appling County and had lived here most of his life. He was retired and before retirement was employed with Rayonier as a construction worker. Wolfe attended Carter’s Chapel Church of God of Prophecy. He was the son of the late Benjamin Lainer Wolfe and the late Virdie O’Bright Wolfe.
Survivors include four sons, David L. Wolfe, Jr. (Jan) of Baxley, Kevin Wolfe of Wisconsin, Matthew Wolfe of Baxley and Ronnie Wolfe of Wisconsin; two sisters, Jeanette Beckworth of Baxley and Linda Gail Murray of Blackshear; one brother, Benjamin Nathaniel Wolfe of Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Christy, Justin and David; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Grave side services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20 at Asbury Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Andrew Kersey officiating.
Active pallbearers were Randall Kersey, Randy Medders, Ed L. Baxley, Randy Hart, Jerry Smith and Al Hopkins.
Musical selections were rendered by Sandra Nettles and Marty Thompson.
Arrangements were under the direction of David E. Miles Funeral Home.
