The Appling County Pirates traveled to face the Tattnall County Battle Creek Warriors (3-4, 2-2) on Friday, October 14 and were able to get the win, despite terrible officiating, by a score of 32-23. With the win the Pirates are now 7-0 on the season and 4-0 in Region 2AA. The Pirates will try to stay unbeaten as they travel to Long County to face the Blue Tide (0-7, 0-4) on Friday, October 21. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.

The first score of the contest came on an offensive penalty by the Pirates in their own end-zone resulting in a safety making the score 0-2.
The next score would not come until the second quarter with the Pirates starting their drive at the Warrior 48 and ending on a two-yard touchdown pass from Lashune Moore to CJ Nails. Israel Jaramillo would add the extra point to make the score 7-2 at halftime.
The second half would start with the Pirates scoring on their first drive starting at their own 42. The Pirates would later score on an 18-yard touchdown pass from Moore to Donnell McMillan making the score 13-6.
The Warriors would score their first touchdown of the game after taking advantage of an interception making the score, with the two-point conversion, 13-10.
The Pirates would answer with another scoring drive starting at their own 42 and scoring on a 46-yard touchdown pass from Moore to Byron Buxton. Jaramillo would convert the extra point attempt making the score 20-10.
The Warriors would get the next score of the contest early in the fourth quarter but would miss the extra point to make the score 20-16.
The Pirates would add the next score on a 20-yard touchdown pass from Moore to Buxton to make the score 26-16.
The Warriors would answer right back with a touchdown drive to make the score, with the extra point, 26-23.
The Pirates would get the final score of the contest on a 70-yard screen pass from Moore to McMillan to make the final score 32-23.
