Stacy Carroll Herrington, 41, died Thursday, December 30, 2010 in the Appling Healthcare System. Stacy was born in Jeff Davis County on Dec. 23, 1969 and had lived in Appling County all of his life. He was disabled and was a graduate of Appling County High School Class of 1988. Mr. Herrington was a member of Friendship Congregational Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Brandi Greer Herrington of Baxley; one daughter, Sydney Herrington; two sons, Seth Herrington and Trevor Herrington, all of Baxley; his father and mother, Tony and Mary Griffin Herrington of Baxley; two brothers, Clint (wife Erica) Herrington and Wayne (wife Andrea) Herrington, all of Baxley; special niece, Haley Greer of Fleming; special aunt, Retha (husband Mike) Hutto of Baxley; special nephews, Cal Herrington and Andon Greer of Baxley; mother-in-law, Carolyn Roberson of Baxley; brother-in-law, Andy (wife Kelli) Greer of Hinesville; brother-in-law, Rodney (wife Leeann) Greer of Fleming; aunts, Christine Smiley, Ann Crummey, Joyce Sorrell and Lucille Griffin, all of Baxley; uncle, David Griffin of Baxley and several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2 at Friendship Congregational Christian Church with the Rev. Barry Teutsch and the Rev. Rick Brown officiating. Interment followed in Friendship Congregational Christian Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were John Lewis, Henry Jones, Shane Crosby, Chris Stone, Freddie Stone and Darron Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers were Ann Darling, Gabby Wiley, Melissa Wilson, Ashley Jackson, Kanesha Chisholm, Gwen Jackson, Dr. Errol Graham and the staff of South Georgia Medical and all friends and family in attendance.
Musical selections were rendered by Glenn and Sherry Beach and Vickie Dyal.
Arrangements were under the direction of David E. Miles Funeral Home.
