Juanita Floyd, 79, died Friday, January 7, 2011. Ms. Floyd was a native of Jeff Davis County and was born March 7, 1931 to the late Elzie McKinley Hand and the late Lena Mae Kersey Hand. She was a member of Harvest Temple Church of God. She was a homemaker. Ms. Floyd was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Floyd.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Marshall Pridgen of Broxton, Brenda and James Miles of Baxley and Kathryn Kennedy of Haughton, LA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Kathy Kennedy of Screven and David and Janice Floyd of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, Myrtice Everett of Baxley, Doris Harp of Bowling Green, Fla. and Marie Manning of Hazlehurst; one brother, Rabon Hand of Baxley; twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9 in the chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Rev. Linda Bratton officiating. Interment followed in Omega Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were David Floyd, Richard Floyd, Ronnie Kennedy, John Pridgen, Jamie Miles and Carroll Hand.
Honorary pallbearers were staff of the Pavilion.
Musical selections were rendered by Joe Gardner.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
