Former deputy arrested on felony charges

According to Appling County Sheriff Benny Deloach, following an investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (Douglas Office), warrants were issued for former Appling County Sheriff Deputy Richard Griffin.

Griffin has been arrested on felony warrants for aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, first degree cruelty to children and a misdemeanor warrant for simple battery.

Magistrate Judge Ronnie Lewis set bond on the charges that were under his jurisdiction and denied bonds that come under the jurisdiction of the Superior Court. For security reasons, Griffin is being held at an undisclosed location.

Also in connection with the case, Holly Hamilton was arrested on felony warrants for contributing to delinquency of a minor and for influencing a witness. Judge Lewis set bonds on Hamilton and she has posted bond.

I know this man and its really hard to believe he was involved in this. This man went out of his way plenty of times to help people and served in the sheriff's office for afew years.
This just doesnt seem that they have the right man. but on the other hand if he is guilty of these charges then he does need to be put away for a long time. and this just isnt the man I know and liked....

He is. I have never felt safe around this man... My gut always gave me the "uh-oh" feeling.

They need to clean out the sheriff dept.& the police & start with all new,Ther is just to much wrong doing's going on in both dept's.

I agree start with that sheriff Benny DeLoach.
Lewis Parker was the best Appling co had.

I agree with you, they need to start with The Sheriff Deloach and then work their way down. There is a lot of officers and deputy sheriffs that suppose to be upholding the law, but again they are doing illegal crimes, but they are not getting caught, especially when the SHERIFF know what is going on. IT IS TIME FOR A CHANGE IN APPLING COUNTY.

THERE ARE A LOT OF COPS THAT ARE DOING ILLEGAL CRIMES, AND THEY NEED TO PAY THE PRICE JUST LIKE OTHER PEOPLE PAY FOR THEIR CRIME. THEY HAVEN'T GOT CAUGHT YET, BUT ONE DAY THEY WILL.
